Installation
- Place all of the images you want in your image gallery into the empty gallery/ folder.
- Open index.php in a text editor.
- Change any of the HTML to match the rest of your Web site, as well as the style.css file.
- In index.php, observe the following line: createGallery("gallery/", "gallery/thumbs/", 120, 80, 8, FALSE);
- Change gallery/ to the name of the folder that contains the gallery images. It does not have to change. Leave the quotations there.
- Change gallery/thumbs/ to the path to the folder that contains the gallery thumbnails, which MUST be an empty folder. It does not have to change. Leave the quotations there.
- Change 120 to the width (in pixels) of the gallery thumbnails. Do not insert quotation marks.
- Change 80 to the maximum height (in pixels) of the gallery thumbnails. This will be used if after resizing to the thumbnail width, the height is still too tall. Do not insert quotation marks.
- Change 8 to the number of images there should be in each row of the gallery. Do not insert quotation marks.
- Change FALSE to TRUE if you want the links to the full-size images open in a new window. Upload everything to the FTP server.
- CHMOD the gallery and thumbnails folders to 777 permissions.
- Open index.php in your Web browser. The thumbnails will be instantly generated. Click on a thumbnail to see the full-size picture. Hover over it to see the name of the full-size picture file.
- Anytime you want to add new pictures, upload them to the gallery folder. DO NOT UPLOAD ANY FILES TO THE THUMBNAILS FOLDER.
- Anytime you want to delete pictures from the gallery, delete them from the FTP folder. To save space, you may delete the thumbnail that has the same filename from the thumbnails folder.
